Interserve and Hays Score for Shelter
Ten teams took part in a construction industry football challenge on behalf of the homeless charity, Shelter. The event, organised by Hays, Interserve, and the Wolseley Group, took place in Slough at the end of July. Family and colleagues turned out to cheer their teams before one of the Hays teams, captained by senior manager Jason Bowler, was proclaimed the overall winner.
Mark Pryor, General Manager at Interserve commented: “Housing is an extremely important issue and one we take very seriously. Interserve is currently working in partnership with Slough Borough Council, and other partnering contractors, to ensure that by 2012 all council homes are up to the government’s ‘Decent Homes Standard’. Events such as the football help to cement these relationships and I would like to thank everybody for their generous donations to the raffle.”
Jason Bowler from Hays, says: "The event was a tremendous success and it was great to work so closely with Interserve. Great football, great fun and over £2,000 raised for charity. Of course, it was even better because one of our teams won the event, but well done to everyone who played and thanks to all the supporters for cheering us on and boosting the donations on the day."
