The Local Bookkeeper’s goal is to revolutionise the bookkeeping industry by creating the UK’s first national commercial brand of professional bookkeepers and financial professionals.

Our service is more than bookkeeping, we are providing a smarter and more intelligent way of delivering financial transparency for small businesses. The service has the benefits, similar to those of the client having a scalable in-house account department, but without the costs and HR issues.

The Local Bookkeeper provides a selection of services including bookkeeping, management accounts, payroll and credit control to provide full financial management of a business’s finances, which historically, has never been offered, by a national brand to 4.3 million small and medium sized businesses. The revolution has begun!       

The Local Bookkeeper will be filling the massive void, where many accountants and existing unqualified bookkeepers are not meeting the expectations and needs of small-to-medium sized businesses across the UK.

The Opportunity:

This is a truly outstanding opportunity for qualified or/and experienced accounting/financial professionals to be part of the biggest revolution in the bookkeeping industry.

You will be the owner of your own business that will specialise in helping the small businesses to manage their finances allowing them to grow. You will benefit from having financial security, working to a proven and tested business model and an opportunity to be your own boss with the support of a national expert in this field.   

The Local Bookkeeper will provide you with a full week’s training to teach you the business model which has been developed and tested over the past 12 years.

How about clients? You will also receive 15 appointments (in some cases up to 70+ total leads) on the launch of your business and full marketing support on an ongoing basis as well leads from national marketing campaigns. You will receive ongoing technical and business advice to assist you in developing your business.

You will be responsible for:  

  • Delivering bookkeeping, management accounts, managing the provision of payroll, managing the provision of credit control and other services
  • Recruiting, inducting, training, coaching and managing your own staff   
  • All aspects of running your own business   
  • Managing client accounts and relationships 
  • Delivering a superior service to your clients to provide you with a very profitable business  

About You:    

You will be experienced and/or qualified in an area of finance or accountancy. You will need the desire to succeed in managing a business (with our support) and should be passionate about customer satisfaction and high quality service. You will recognise the benefits of being your own boss and the work/life balance you can achieve.   

We have strict recruitment processes to ensure that we recruit only the best technical and experienced franchisees, also who have the ability to communicate with clients and their employees to a high level.            

We look for franchisees with formal qualifications and/or experience in accounting and bookkeeping, including the following:-        

  • Institute of Certified Bookkeepers – ICB
  • International of Association of Bookkeepers - IAB
  • Association of Accounting Technician's - AAT        
  • ACCA's Certified Accounting Technician Qualification – CAT
  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – CIMA
  • Any formal accounting qualification - ICAEW and ACCA
  • We will, of course, speak with any QBE (qualified by experience) candidate.
